Vicky Boladian is a 1997 graduate of the Boston University School of Law who is licensed to practice law in California and worked with “Big Five” accounting firms Arthur Andersen and Ernst & Young before joining Aerlex in 2008. Ms. Boladian has not only been selected as Super Lawyer every year since 2014, she has also been honored as one of the Top 50 Female Attorneys in Southern California by both Super Lawyers and Pasadena Magazine.
Ms. Boladian, a practicing attorney for 18 years, has developed a strong expertise in the complex field of tax law. As the Chief Executive Officer and Tax Specialist at ATS, Ms. Boladian represents Aerlex clients seeking aircraft sales and use tax exemptions, challenging property tax assessments and facing audits by the U.S. Internal Revenue Service and the California Franchise Tax Board. Ms. Boladian is a frequent lecturer on aviation tax matters and has spoken numerous times to the National Business Aviation Association, the Aerlex Private Aviation Seminar Series, the CalCPA Education Foundation and has appeared as a guest on radio talk shows. Ms. Boladian also assists the National Business Aviation Association with state tax updates for multiple states as well as providing guidance on California state tax issues.
Ms. Boladian has had tremendous success in pursuing aviation-related tax matters on behalf of Aerlex clients and has achieved a 100% success rate in obtaining use tax exemptions and has saved clients millions of dollars in state and federal tax appeals.
Stephen Hofer is the President of the Aerlex Law Group, a firm he founded in 2005 that is regarded as one of the nation’s premier aviation law firms. During a legal career that now spans 35 years, he has specialized in aviation, corporate, commercial and employment law. He has been named as a Southern California Super Lawyer for seven consecutive years and has received Martindale-Hubbell’s highest ratings for both legal ability and ethical standards. Mr. Hofer publishes articles and speaks regularly on legal topics to various organizations in the aviation industry.
A 1980 graduate of the Northwestern University School of Law, where he won the prestigious Lowden-Wigmore Prize for the best student-written law review article, Mr. Hofer practiced law with the global firm of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher in Los Angeles for four years and served as vice president and general counsel of American Golf Corporation for eight years before moving into the field of aviation law 25 years ago.
In 2014 he formed Aerlex Tax Services with Vicky Boladian and serves as President of the company.
